Design must be inspired by the Light The Night (LTN) or the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
Design only the front of a plain t-shirt.
Must visibly and clearly include The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society/Light The Night Logo lockup (example above).
Up to three different designs will be accepted, but they must be submitted as separate entries.
Design must be solely original.
IMPORTANT: By submitting a design you are guaranteeing that you hold rights to everything in it, and that it does not contain any copyrighted material, including images/copy found on the internet, unless clearly marked as published under a creative commons (cc) license.
Photograph submissions will not be accepted.
Submission should include a shirt color suggestion
Submissions must include a valid email address
Two rounds of voting will be held.
First round: Three designs will be chosen by a panel of LLS staff
Second round: The Light The Night Facebook community will vote on the three chosen designs and determine a winner
Designs will be judged on the following criteria:
Captures spirit of the LTN
Striking and memorable design
Eye-catching and visible from a reasonable distance
Completeness of design – must be ready for print
Feasibility/must be easy to reproduce
Adherence to the above design/submission guidelines
Design submission must be jpeg, png, or gif and no more than 2.2 MB.
Winner will be required to provide the original design in a high res format, compatible with Photoshop, Illustrator or another professional design program.
Design must contain a maximum of four (4) colors (plus the shirt color).
The design will be centered on the front of the t-shirt, in a 10” wide x 13” high rectangular area.
You must be 18 years or older to submit an entry. If you’re younger designs must be submitted by a parent or guardian.
LLS will have first printing rights to the winning design. By submitting you agree that if your design wins, it can be used by LLS on a t-shirt and other promotional items, including the LLS and LTN website and marketing and public relations materials. The winner and image of the design will be featured in our e-newsletter and national blog post.
We reserve the right to make adjustments to the winning design.
LLS staff members are not eligible to enter.
Designs must be submitted by 7:00 p.m. ET, March 17, 2017.
Voting begins on March 20, 2017.
Voting closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 27, 2017.
The winner will be notified by email at the close of the voting period, via the information provided on the entry form. At the sole discretion of LLS, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: (1) winner’s failure to respond to notification within seven (7) business days after its transmission; (2) the return of an email notification as undeliverable after three (3) attempts; (3) winner’s failure to provide original design files; (4) winner’s failure to execute and return a release form. Upon contacting a winner and determining that they have met all eligibility requirements of the contest, such individual will be declared the “winner” of the contest via social post and national LLS blog.

The Light The Night is a powerful and unique fundraising campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which bring together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the diseases, and shine a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Since it began in 1999, this national program hosts nearly 200 walks across North America each fall, has helped LLS invest more than $1 billion in research to advance breakthrough cancer treatments that are saving lives today.
